At Led Zeppelin’s concert at the Oakland Coliseum on July 23, 1977, Robert Plant wore his “Nurses Do It Better!” t-shirt, which became a highly popular visual for the music artist.
From 1969-1979, Led Zeppelin was arguably the most popular rock band in the world. Formed in London 1968, the group consisted of Robert Plant (vocalist), Jimmy Page (guitarist), John Paul Jones (bassist/keyboardist) and John Bonham (drummer). While their sound was rooted in blues, their style was also influenced by psychedelia and folk music to name a few. Led Zeppelin pushed sonic boundaries with their nine studio albums, all achieving a spot on the Billboard Album Chart, six of which reached number one status. Inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame in 1995, Led Zeppelin was, as Rolling Stones described, “unquestionably one of the most enduring bands in rock history”.
When their untitled album, commonly known as Led Zeppelin IV, dropped, it was a commercial and critical success that spawned what many called the greatest rock song in history, “Stairway to Heaven”. Although officially nameless, the album was represented by four symbols chosen by each band member. Referred to as Zoso, these sigils sitting at the corners of this shirt’s graphics pay homage to the album while the zeppelin is a direct representation of the band. The allover tie-dye is a nice throwback to their heyday of the ’70s but let’s face it—they’re legends no matter what decade we’re in.
This well loved favorite features a classic crew neck, long sleeves and superior combed and ring-spun jersey cotton. Solid colors are made from 100% Airlume combed and ring spun cotton, 32 single 4.2 oz, while Athletic Heather is made from 90% Airlume combed and ring spun cotton and 10% poly blend. Care Instructions: Machine wash cold, tumble dry medium and use non-chlorine bleach when needed.
