As a songwriting student at the Rotterdam Concervatorium, Froukje was given a school assignment last year to write a New Year's song. Instead of the cheerful, cliché New Year's quotes, she opted for a more topical subject: the climate crisis. The song became a mega-hit and 3FM even named her 3FM talent. When she released 'Licht en Donker' as the third single in November, this earned her a place in the 2021 edition of Noorderslag. A week before the performance, she released her debut EP, which bears the same name as her third single 'Licht en Donker'. After Noorderslag, she was surprised with an ESNS Kickstart Award, a prize that is given annually to emerging promises. 2021 is definitely the year of Froukje!
